A compact, bushy, deciduous shrub with dark purple-blue or deep reddish-pink flowers in summer. They do best in an area that receives afternoon shade, and look great in a woodland garden. Relatively low maintenance, leave spent flowers for structural interest over the fall and winter but prune before spring.
